Apply Now: Emerging Pork Leaders Carolina applications now being accepted
RALEIGH (September 5, 2024) — The NC Pork Council is inviting college students and high school juniors and seniors to apply for the Emerging Pork Leaders Carolina program — a three-month leadership program that educates students and prepares them for career opportunities and leadership roles in the pork industry.
The program is open to anyone currently involved in the pork industry or interested in the industry. Participants must live in North Carolina or be native to North Carolina. Up to 25 students will be accepted into the program.
Applications will be accepted through October 4, 2024.
After completing the program, participants will be able to identify the threats facing agriculture and the pork industry and confidently engage with neighbors and on social media about the industry.
Four sessions will be held — two in-person meetings and two virtual sessions. The in-person sessions are mandatory for all participants. All costs associated with the program will be covered.

· November 16, 2024: NC A&T State University (Greensboro)
· November 21, 2024: Virtual
· December 12, 2024: Virtual
· January 18, 2025: Natural Science Museum (Raleigh)
Ambassador Opportunities:
· Engage with the public and share our story by volunteering at the NC State Fair and other events.
· Program reunion at the NC Pork Council annual conference in Raleigh (February 26-27, 2025)
· Opportunities to engage with industry professionals at events.
