The North Carolina Pork Council (NCPC) has published a study that brings into question the design and data from a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) analysis of water quality and North Carolina agriculture. The North Carolina Pork Council has completed a preliminary review of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Scientific Investigations Report “Surface-Water Quality in Agricultural Watersheds of the North Carolina Coastal Plain Associated with Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations.” Below is a memo detailing the concerns with the study including the press release from USGS announcing the release of the study.
Also below is a preliminary review from Geo Solutions Ltd. which serves as an important addition to the industry response from the NCPC.
