Robin Lackey grew up in southern Alamance County on her grandparents’ family farm, raising tobacco, small grain, cows and hogs. She has been in agriculture all her life. Robin coached softball at Liberty School for six years before becoming a truck driver for Carolina Swine (KLS Swine) hauling finishers and weaners for 15 years. In 1999, Robin and her husband, Mike, bought a 64-acre hog farm named Beaver Creek Farm in northern Orange County that they manage together. The farm is a 4,000-head finishing farm and is contacted with NG Purvis Farms. In addition to hogs, they also have beef cattle in Randolph and Orange County.
