Eat Lean for Less with Pork

Are you already feeling guilty about ditching your New Year’s resolution? Finding it difficult to stick with a new, healthy regime? We’re here to help with a plethora of lean pork recipes that are easy to prepare and can transform your dinner plate - and your waistline. Think of it as a menu“you” makeover!

It is easy to power up your weight management with pork on your plate. Why? Six of the most common cuts of pork are 16 percent leaner and contain 27 percent less saturated fat than they did 19 years ago. Place pork on your plate with the protein that provides taste, ease of preparation and the perfect nutrient combination to benefit a healthy diet.

In fact, a study from the Obesity journal found women who cut calories but included more protein, including six ounces of lean pork per day, kept more muscle mass while losing weight than women who consumed the same amount of calories but less protein. Consuming a higher protein diet also helped retain a sense of satiety or fullness after meals.

The best news is that pork is not only perfect for waistlines, it’s good for your wallet, too! With numerous cuts to choose from, pork’s versatility pairs well with almost any flavor. Leftover lovers should check out the Mustard-Herb Crusted Pork Loin roast for dinner which makes enough for a delicious Pork Cordon Bleu Sandwich the next day! Any way you slice it, you’ll find savings at the meat case with pork.
