2010 North Carolina Pork Council Scholarship InformationApplication deadline is May 3, 2010Two scholarships in the amount of $600 each will be awarded annually. The scholarships will be paid directly to the institution unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Past NCPC scholarship recipients are eligible to re-apply on a yearly basis.
In the event the scholarship is not used by a scholarship recipient within the designated academic year, any remaining money will be returned to the NCPC scholarship fund.
The application deadline is May 3 and all required information, including letters of recommendation and transcripts, must be submitted by this date.
The NCPC internship/scholarship committee, consisting of NC Pork Council members, is responsible for the review of all applications and selection of scholarship recipients.
Eligibility InformationApplicant must presently be an undergraduate or incoming freshman at either the community college or university level in North Carolina.
Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student in an agricultural curriculum of study. Preference will be given to applicant who has a strong desire to remain active in the swine production industry after graduation.
A minimum GPA of 2.8 (unweighted) is required. An official transcript must accompany the application. Transcripts will be reviewed for GPA eligibility. Along with high school and/or college grades, the GPA will be considered in the scholarship selection process.
