Joey White is part owner/operator of W4 Farms, Inc. in Elkin. He is in partnership with his dad and three brothers. Joey has been in full-time farming for 33 years carrying on the legacy of his grandparents. W4 Farms, Inc. was built as a new 2,400 sow daughter/nucleus farm in 1995 with L&H Farms. After graduating from high school, Joey began full-time farming with his dad growing mainly tobacco and field crops. They built the swine operation in 1995. After growing as much as 80 acres of tobacco, in 2004 they decided to give up tobacco production and concentrate on the swine, cattle, and field crop operations. In addition to swine, his farm has registered Angus Cattle. They grow 300 acres of corn, 500 acres of soybeans, 300 acres of wheat, and 200 acres of barley. Joey is a 1975 graduate of Surry Central High School and attended Surry Community College. Joey served on the NC Pork Councils board from 1997-2003, is a member of Surry County Planning Board, chairman of the Advisory Council with Surry County Cooperative Extension, board member of Surry County Cattlemens Association, and serves as deacon and treasurer for Salem Fork Baptist Church. Joey enjoys hunting and woodworking. He has been married to Pam for 31 years. They have two daughters and two grandsons. Back to Board Members |
