Board Members

District 2

Jay Foushee

Jay Foushee, along with his dad John, owns and operates Foushee Farms in Roxboro. The 120 sow operation supplies a local grower with about 1,900 feeder pigs per year. Jay is responsible for breeding, feed rations, and vaccinations while his dad takes care of farrowing and nursery. In addition to the swine operation, Foushee Farms also grows corn, wheat, soybeans, and tobacco on about 800 acres. On the national level, for the National Pork Board, Jay is a member of the State Producer Relations committee and recently finished five years on the Demand Enhancement committee. He has also served one year on the Nominating committee, three years on the Plan of Work committee and is a graduate of the Pork Leadership Academy. On the state level, Jay served two terms on the NC Pork Council’s board of directors and was a delegate at Pork Forum for several years. Committee work included Promotions committee and Awards committee. Jay is a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he has served on the Administrative Board and the Cemetery committee. Jay is the training officer for Hurdle Mills Fire Department and is employed part time by the City of Roxboro Fire and Rescue and Person County EMS as an EMT Intermediate. Jay is also track services director for Orange County Speedway in Rougemont. Jay and his wife Kim, have a 16 year old daughter Julia. They also have an "adopted daughter" Martha, who is a captain in the US Army stationed in Germany.
