Board MembersPast President George Pettus
For the last 14 years, George Pettus has been the environmental manager for Maxwell Foods, Inc./Goldsboro Hog Farms, Inc. He is responsible for environmental design, engineering, permitting, and compliance on corporate facilities, environmental training and oversight for contract producers, nutrient and manure management, and crop and hay production. Prior to his work with Maxwell Foods, Inc./Goldsboro Hog Farms, George worked with the Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District. In addition to serving as Vice President on the NC Pork Council 's board, George is a member of the Council's executive committee, compensation committee, nominating committee, chairman of the budget committee, chairman of the public policy committee and a member of the technical and environmental task force. He has also been a member of the long range planning committee. Nationally, he is chairman of the research committee for the National Pork Board and a member of the National Pork Producers Council's environment committee. He is involved in multiple state stakeholder committees dealing with environmental issues in the regulatory arena. He is also a member of the Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission.
