Board MembersAppointed George Pettus
George Pettus, the environmental manager for Maxwell Foods, Inc./Goldsboro Milling Co. for the past 19 years, is now the environmental manager for Ivey Spring Creek Farm. George is also owner/operator of the consulting firm, Mountain 2 Seas Environmental, LLC where his responsiblities include environmental design, engineering, permitting, and compliance for corporate, as well as contract facilities. In addition to serving as Past President of the NC Pork Council, George also serves on the budget committee, compensation committee and public policy committee. He has also been a member of the long range planning committee. Nationally, he is past chairman of the research committee for the National Pork Board and a member of the National Pork Producers Council's environment committee. George is involved in multiple state stakeholder committees dealing with environmental issues in the regulatory arena. He is also a certified technical specialist by the NC Soil and Water Commission. He is the past chairman of the board of directors of the AARC (Agricultural Air Resource Council). This board oversees the NAEMS (National Air Emissions Monitoring Study), which is the Air Consent Agreement Study between EPA and livestock producers (swine, egg and dairy). George is also a member of the Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission, appointed by the Commissioner of Agriculture.
