Board Members Ex OfficioDr. Ed Jones - Administration-Extension Servie - NC State University
Dr. Ed Jones is Professor and Associate Director and State Program Leader for Agriculture, Natural Resources and Community and Rural Development for the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service at North Carolina State University. He has served in this position since 2004. Prior to that, Dr. Jones held the following positions in extension administration: Assistant Director for ANR/CRD, Assistant Director for Community Development and Associate State Program Leader for ANR/CRD. He also was the Extension Wildlife Specialist and Assistant Department Head and Department Extension Leader in the Department of Forestry at NC State. Dr. Jones represents NC Cooperative Extension and NC State University on the NC State Emergency Response Team, and has served as chair of the Extension Disaster Education Network. He is cofounder and current cochair of the North Carolina Community Solutions Network, an organization dedicated to enhancing communication among community development professionals and providing community development assistance to rural communities in North Carolina. He has been active in NACDEP serving on the resolutions and bylaws committee. He has also been active with the Southern Region program leaders, serving as chair of the Community Development Committee and the Program Leadership Network. Dr. Jones holds degrees from the University of Washington and Virginia Tech.
