Jay Foushee owns and operates Foushee Farms LLC in Roxboro. The 120 sow operation supplies a local grower with about 1,900 feeder pigs per year. In addition to the swine operation, Foushee Farms also grows corn, wheat, soybeans, and hay on about 800 acres. On the national level, for the National Pork Board, Jay is a former member of the state producer relations committee and the demand enhancement committee. He has also served one year on the NPB nominating committee, three years on the plan-of-work committee and is a graduate of the Pork Leadership Academy. On the state level, Jay previously served on the NC Pork Council’s board of directors and was a delegate at Pork Forum for several years. Committee work included promotions committee and awards committee. Jay is a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and is employed part time by the City of Roxboro Fire and Rescue and Bahama Fire-Rescue in Durham County. Jay and his wife Kim, have a 24 year old daughter, Julia. When they have time, the Foushees enjoy hooking up the camper and finding a good campground.
