Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship

Each Fall, the best whole hog barbecue chefs in North Carolina square off to become our state champion. The Whole Hog Barbecue Championship is the culmination of a qualifying series that includes more than 25 N.C. Pork Council-certified local barbecue competitions statewide.
Join us on South Street in downtown Raleigh for the annual Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship. Cooks will receive hogs around 7 p.m. and will be judged on the quality of their cooking skills at 8 a.m. the next morning.
All of the pork will be donated to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, who will sell barbecue sandwiches beginning around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning for $5. So be sure to stop by for some championship barbecue!
