Chris Barwick has been involved in the pork industry for more than 30 years. He graduated with a bachelor of science in animal science from NC State University in 1982. Chris worked as a livestock agent in Lenoir County with NC Cooperative Extension Service for five years after graduation. In partnership with his father, Lynwood Barwick, he owned a swine breeding stock business into the mid-1990’s. Chris then joined Brown’s of Carolina in 1999. Currently, Chris’ responsibilities with Murphy-Brown’s North Division include production director of approximately 80,000 commercial sows, both company and contract, and approximately 200,000 contract nursery spaces.
