Award Winning Sausage Quiche

Serve with fruit slices for breakfast, a salad for lunch, or with saut?ed red peppers and green beans for dinner.

Servings: 6

Cooking Directions
Preheat oven 425 degrees. Saute finely chopped onion in butter for about 3 minutes. Line bottom of pie shell with cooked, drained, and crumbled sausage , onion and half the grated cheese. Combine eggs, milk, heavy cream and pepper; mix well and pour over the sausage mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes - continue at 350 degrees for about 30 - 35 minutes.

 

1/2 Pound bulk pork sausage, cooked, drained, and crumbled

1 9-inch unbaked pie shell

1 Onion, small-size, finely chopped

1 Teaspoon butter

1 Cup Gruyere Cheese, grated

4 Medium or large-size eggs, beaten

1 Cup milk

1 Cup heavy cream

1 Teaspoon ground white pepper (can substitute ground black pepper)
